Blow-in insulation

Horizon Roofing and Siding

There are other types of insulation

  • Fiberglass(Batt and Loose Blow-in)
  • Cellulose
  • Rigid Foam Board
  • Radiant Barrier

Here at Horizon we can install and will install other types of insulation, but we highly recommend Fiberglass Blow-in. We recommend this because there is nothing to burn, it doesn't break down over the years and settling is minimal. Energystar.gov assures you that the results will be evident. Most homes will reduce their utility bills by as much as 30%.

When your home is properly insulated it will stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. With proper insulation you will have enhanced comfort, and your energy bills should be less in the hottest and coldest months of the year.

Insulation performance is measured by R-value, the higher the R-value equals more insulating power. Insulation does it's job best when there is no air moving around it. That being said any air leaks should be sealed before install to ensure the best result from the insulation.

Insulation should be Installed Properly not just installed. When choosing a contractor for this project, the right contractor can make all the difference. Fiberglass insulation (Batt insultion or roll insultation) if compressed can lose significant R-value. If your attic is blown-in to the proper depth but the correct number of bags of product weren't used to meet the manufacturer's specifications, then you aren't getting the R-value that you purchased.
